PURPOSE | To define the action to be taken by the Graduate Medical Education office in the event of a disaster that significantly affects the training programs at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas (THD). |

SCOPE | Applies to all interns, residents, and fellows (hereafter all will be referred to as trainees) as well as Teaching Faculty in any training program on the THD campus. | ||
PROVISIONS | In the event of a disaster, natural or otherwise, that affects any GME program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, the Designated Institution Official (DIO) will contact the ACGME within ten (10) days of the declaration of a disaster to discuss: All submissions of the above information will be made to the ACGME within thirty (30) days. The DIO will also be in contact with the Graduate Medical Education Coordinator and each Program Director with regard to the status of their respective program. The Program Director and/or DIO in turn will communicate with all trainees concerning continuation of training, including temporary transfers to other institutions programs and the minimum duration of time expected for that transfer. All efforts will be made to assist trainees in continuation of education and training with as little interruption as possible. |
